Good news for the patients with Zika Virus. As it all seems a vaccine for the Zika virus, could be ready for emergency use before year-end.
According to one of its lead developers Zika virus which has been linked to severe birth defects in thousands of infants can be controlled soon.
Until now, there is no proven vaccine or treatment for Zika, a close cousin of dengue and chikungunya.
Canadian scientist Gary Kobinger, part of a consortium working on the vaccine, told Reuters in an interview that the first stage of testing on humans could begin as early as August.
The risk is even greater as almost the 80 percent of people infected they face no symptoms, making it harder for pregnant women to know whether they have been infected or not.
