A Virgin Atlantic [VA.UL] flight heading to new york came back to London Heathrow airfield on Sunday when a "laser beam incident", British airline said.
The company said in an exceedingly statement that it had returned flight VS025 to London Heathrow airport as a precautionary measure shortly when take-off when one of its pilots was taken unwell following the incident.
It said it was working with authorities to spot the source of the laser beam, that media reports said had been shone into the cockpit from the ground.
"The safety of our crew and customers is our prime priority and that we apologize for any inconvenience to those onboard," the airline said.
