No one is believed to have been killed or harmed when 2 buildings collapsed in central Istanbul on Friday, the local governor, Vasip Sahin, told CNN Turk during a live interview.
The two buildings, one among them five-storey, collapsed in a street close to the city's busy Istiklal Avenue in the central Taksim space. A Reuters newsman at the scene saw clouds of brown dirt oozy through the encircling sidestreets.
The reason behind the collapse wasn't clear.
