Turkey's military says 10 military personnel have died in clashes with Kurdish rebels and in a subsequent helicopter crash.
A statement from the military says clashes broke out with rebels of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party, or PKK, in Hakkari province on Friday, killing eight soldiers.
A military helicopter sent to the area later crashed due to a technical fault, the military said, killing its two pilots.
