Police say two speedboats carrying 62 tourists have collided off the coast of southern Thailand, leaving at least two people dead and 20 injured.
Lt. Col. Prasert Srikhunrat said most of the passengers were Chinese, including the two who died.
The collision occurred Wednesday afternoon near the popular resort island of Phuket.
Prasert, a deputy superintendent of the Phuket marine police, said he did not immediately have more details about the crash or about other nationalities of those on board.
The crash was the latest incident to mar the country's image as a tourist paradise, and the third crash in two weeks involving boats that shuttle vacationers to Thailand's resort islands.
